Hi There.
Welcome to AlaskaREAL!
This all started a few years ago when I had the thought of putting photos of Alaska onto Hoodies. I wondered if people would be interested in such a thing...
I live in Alaska, and I like it here, so why not bring something to the world that not everyone would be able to come and see? So I tried a few different photos on some hoodies, and like One would usually do, when ruminating over something that could potentially be life-changing, got the opinion of Family and Friends. They liked it!
A lot of positive feedback, so I started to refine my idea and learned a lot about taking the right kind of photos, making the photos the right size so that they would look good once they were printed onto different kinds of clothing, pillows, blankets, and well almost anything you could think of really.
An example of my early work is below.

I was pretty excited at the time and it is still a hoodie I wear occasionally.
I came to realize that there was a certain look that I wanted my "Wares" to have.
I wanted a photo to cover whatever it was on with mostly the same pattern or texture. I have slowly learned the best way to do this! I am still learning of course and I believe that the "Style will continue to evolve with time".
Branding came in time as well. "AlaskaREAL" wasn't the name I was thinking of in the beginning. But what I am all about is "Real Alaska" which didn't quite roll off the tongue in the same way as AlaskaREAL.
You will see that most of my designs do not have "AlaskaREAL" right out in front. I like the more low-profile look. There is some "Stealth" branding Inside the Hood or on the inside of the waist area.
Ultimately though I listened to my Family and made some "Branded" items that Loudly proclaim "AlaskaREAL". I only have a few of those right now but I will be adding many more items to the Storefront in the future Branded and Low Profile as I like to call them.
That's all for now!
I will try to post updates about Alaska. Life here. And some of the Beauty the we experience on an almost daily basis. Though sometimes it is hard to see through all of the snow!
